A Collab bringing two different worlds together -
Unless you have been under a rock you have a least heard of Banksy. In the Graffiti world he is known for his social satire and striking stencil work.

“His images are bold and his placement is spot on, but most importantly it the way he uses humor to bring social issues to light”. - Johnny Blanco
Banksy's work grew out of the Bristol underground scene; he was initially part of the Bristol Graffiti crew named DryBreadZ. By the age of 18, he began to develop stencils after nearly being caught by the police.
“If Graffiti changed anything- it would be illegal.” - Banksy
Bansky gained fame when Mr. Brainwash began filming the underground graffiti scene. Later that footage was used to create the documentary called “Exit Through the Gift Shop”.
Banksy's satirical and controversial stencils have been painted and conceived all over the world in countries such as England, the United States of America, Israel, Palestine, Jamaica, Canada and Australia. The concepts behind his artworks are frequently political relating to messages of anti-war, anti-capitalism and anti-establishment, with the subjects often being rats, policemen, soldiers and the vulnerable.
Some of his most famous artistic innovation and works include "Kissing Coppers" (2004), Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010), Better Out Than In (2013), Immigrant Steve Job in Calais (2015), Dismaland in Weston-super-mare (2015), The Walled Off Hotel in Palestine (2017) and most recently a 'shredding' of a sold Balloon girl for 1.4 million pounds at Sotheby's in London (2018).
The "Banksy Effect" has now been developed as a result of Banksy's artistic vision, the term alludes itself to the artist's ability to turn graffiti art or 'vandalism' into elite art world and cultural mainstream.

The reason I decided to highlight these pieces is that they almost seem more relative today than they did in 2013. With the current global political climate or tensions found at home in America these pieces try to remind us to slow down and look at things from another’s point of view.

“Odd One Out” is one of my favorite collaborations. It is just perfect the way two different styles represent two different worlds being out of place.”

“We like to give people an opportunity to play with their imaginations – to see what they want to see, We want people to really fly away when they see our work.”
- Os Gemeos
“In the pieces “Odd One Out” the style of Os Gemeos works beautiful in contrast to the structured stencil by Banksy. They offer the viewer a chance to get lost in the subtitle differences of the crowd.”
- Johnny Blanco
Os Gêmeos, Portuguese for "the twins", are among the best-known Brazilian street artists. The identical twin brothers Gustavo and Otávio Pandolfo were born in São Paulo in 1974. They grew up in Cambuci, one of the oldest districts of the city. Playfully, they learned to communicate with each other and their surroundings through their drawings and decided to work together as an artist duo.
When hip-hop culture from the USA conquered Brazil in the 1980s, the Pandolfo brothers first practised break dancing under this influence before their first graffiti followed. Since they could not afford spray cans, the twins worked with brushes, wallpaper rollers and facade paints, unlike American street artists. The hip-hop movement served as a source of inspiration for their own artistic expression in public space. The city became their studio and street walls became canvases.
“To improvise is the best way to make art.”
- Os Gemeos
