Most artist have a “Muse”. It is often a beautiful model or perhaps a social injustice that ignites the passion to do better work. This time it was little different for me, this time my muse was a client.

I had created a piece for an actress back in 2020. Her good friend happened to see the piece and decided to follow me on Instagram. That is where he saw one of my painted objects (in this case a four foot Stormtrooper) covered in graffiti. He is an avid collector of Clase Azul tequila and had the idea of of me painting one of his bottles. I had painted Champagne bottles before so this seemed like an easy project.

Wanting to know more about the new client I reached out to the client that he learned about me from. She was excited to tell me about him. She gave me a long list of things that made him who he is. Here is a highlight reel; he always treats his friends like family, he has an obsession with Clase Azul tequila, he has rescued numerous animals on his own all while supporting many animal rescue charities, not only does he help animals but he gives to Children charities as well, he is always up for an adventure, but most importantly how his children are always priority number one.

After learning about the client I felt like I had to do something special for him. I was inspired, he was the Muse. That was when my mind started working overtime, ideas began to flow. What if I took a step further and instead of a painting a bottle I would create a 3 dimensional sculpture. This was my chance to celebrate the life of this man by adding personal touches to the work.

That was when the series “Explosiva” was born.
